Agriculture, Vehicles, and Heavy Machinery

Brunner has investigated fires on small family farms to large co-ops; from tractors, combines and other ag machinery to RVs, cars, four-wheelers or anything on wheels. Brunner fought and examined ship and aircraft fires as a routine part of his 20 years of service in the U.S. Navy prior to formal work in the civilian sector as a forensic fire investigator.

Defense and Legal Counsel

Brunner is court-certified as an expert witness, and has testified on behalf of numerous cases and clients. Ask us for an overview, or download Lorne’s CV from the “About Us” section.

Lorne Brunner is licensed, bonded and insured as a private investigator in Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, Wisconsin and Illinois. Our services are also available in SD, where laws vary from the other states but do not require licensure.

Fire-pi secures evidence in accordance with ASTM protocols and standards. Each assignment accepted is undertaken with the mindset that subrogation and legal testimony could be required, and therefore is documented accordingly, preserving the chain of evidence.

In addition to his master’s degree in forensics, Brunner has also completed post-secondary education in law. This exposure provides him with insight into working effectively with attorneys in developing personal injury, arson defense and other fire and explosion cases.
